Behind the scene.
Mira, creative director and initiator of Buro Mos is specialized in the potential and interventions of spaces.
Due a temporary or permanent re-destination regarding the building, users and residents.
Parallel to spatial design she is driven and inspired by starting up social projects from scratch.
This started in 2006 when she was part of a small team of dreamers and ideologists who set up
the interdisciplinary creative space ‘Studio/K’. Where she was in lead of the spatial and experience design of the whole venue.
After this project she continued following her ambition and set up in 2011 an artist initiative known as
‘de Modestraat’ situated in the North of Amsterdam. There she curated and encouraged the creative hub,
where cultural entrepreneurs, local start-ups and neighbourhood residents rent workspaces,
inspire each other and work together on creative projects.
In addition to the Modestraat, Mira got involved as an initiator and art director at the Mama Louise Foundation,
a platform for talent and neighbourhood development, which stimulates the revitalization of the local economy
and the potential for including local entrepreneurship.
